About Me

I am Dr. Prachi Srivastava, an Associate Professor at Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. With over 25 years of experience in teaching and research, my passion lies in bioinformatics, where I have contributed extensively to gene identification, high-throughput genomic data analysis, system biology, protein structure predictions for drug discovery, virtual screening of herbal molecules, and transcriptome data analysis.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of publishing over 110 research papers in reputed high-impact journals, with around 50 of them focusing on computational neurological findings. I have also presented more than 165 abstracts at national and international conferences, primarily in the field of neuroscience. As a guest editor for Frontiers in Genetics, I have had the opportunity to contribute to scientific literature, along with authoring and editing books such as New Perspectives in Neurosciences, Aquaomics: Current Approaches and Vision, Applications of Omics, and Bioinformatics: Vision and Approaches.

Beyond research, I have actively organized and chaired numerous national and international conferences, seminars, training programs, and faculty development programs (FDPs). I have delivered keynote addresses, invited talks, and guest lectures on advanced topics in neuroinformatics and neuroomics at prestigious academic and scientific platforms.

My contributions have been recognized with several awards, including the STOX Gold Medal, AEB Best Paper Presentation Award, BRPM Award, Faculty Appreciation Award from DOEACC, and the Parashakti Best Academic Award at Amity Lucknow. I am also honored to have received the Progressive U.P. Award 2021 at the 18th National Book Fair. Internationally, I was awarded the prestigious JNS (Japan Neuroscience) Award and conferred with Fellow of the National Academy of Environmental Biology (FNAEB 2019), along with accolades such as the Lions of Hind 2022-23 Award and the AEB Meritorious Award 2020.

In my journey, I have also been granted five copyrights for scientific pipelines developed for high-throughput data analysis and comparative genomic advancements, including GeVan, Tulna, SAMVAD, VISHAKT, and SAMVAD. Additionally, I am a member of various international societies, advisory boards, and editorial teams for esteemed journals. As a registered Ph.D. supervisor under AKTU and an executive member of the Uttar Pradesh Academy of Science, I continue to evaluate undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral research.

Mentorship has always been close to my heart. More than 22 of my students, including UG, PG, and research scholars, have received prestigious national and international awards. So far, 14 of my Ph.D. scholars have successfully earned their doctorates and are making significant contributions in their respective fields, while I am currently guiding four more doctoral students.

I have also played a key role in organizing and coordinating over 35 conferences, symposia, and workshops. My research efforts have been supported by three project grants, including funding from DBT CTEP (₹52,000), UPCST (₹11 lakh and ₹15 lakh), and LSSDC (Life Science Skill Development Council).

As an honorary biotechnology counselor, I am deeply committed to guiding students in their career paths in biotechnology and bioinformatics. Through counseling seminars, print and digital media, and academic forums, I strive to inspire and empower future scientists and researchers in this ever-evolving field.
